Back from Iceland

It is hard to believe that this year’s trip to Iceland is already over, but in the same time it is great to be back home with my family. Now it’s time to develop all negatives, scan them and do the necessary post processing. I can already see, it is going to be quite long process, but I will do my best to share new photographs as soon as possible.

This year’s trip was a bit different from the previous ones in some respects. Firstly, we were group of four people, which made the logistic bit more complicated, but on the other hand it was really nice and inspiring to see the others how they approaching the landscape and photography over all. We had really good time together.

Secondly, as Marek described here and here weather was a real challenge this year. I had been checking the weather forecast before we went there, and I was sort of prepared for a challenging weather, but I did not expected to be that bad. I usually do not mind to go out when it’s cold, windy and snowing, but combination of these elements which we experienced over there been really tough. Thirdly, we will stop using our traditional car rental company Budget, because the car they gave us this year was in really bad state and it made our driving in the winter conditions quite dangerous. I do not want to sound too negative, because overall we had very good time and the weather provided us also with great photography opportunities. For example, we were extremely lucky to see the Northern Lights, which is always very special and unique moment.

I was also very positively surprised by Icelandair, which provides very good quality service and as always all Icelandic people we met on the way were supper nice and helpful. We are already discussing out plans for next year, let’s hope we are able to go back there next winter.
